Marcus Robertson has 30 years of NFL experience, 18 as a coach and 12 as a player. Robertson was drafted by the Houston Oilers in the fourth round of the 1991 NFL Draft. He was named an NFL All-Pro in 1993 and played in 162 regular-season games (144 starts). He went on to play with the Tennessee Titans and played his last season with the Seattle Seahawks. He finished his career with 24 interceptions and 72 passes defended.
After retiring, Robertson spent four seasons (2003–2006) as the Titans’ Director of Player Development. He and his staff won the Winston and Shell Award in 2006 for their innovation and commitment to player development in the NFL.
Robertson continued making an impact on the game when he began his coaching career as the assistant secondary coach for the Tennessee Titans from 2007 to 2008, and the head secondary coach from 2009 to 2011. He helped the team rank second in the NFL in average passing yards per completion during that span. He also served as an assistant coach for the Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, and Detroit Lions.
Currently, Robertson is in his fourth season as Arizona's defensive backs coach after joining the Cardinals staff in 2019.
As an NFL Defensive Backs Coach, Robertson continues to leave his mark in the game. He has coached and developed 130 NFL players, sent eight players to the Pro Bowl and has made eight NFL Playoff appearances.
